Epidemiology And The Epidemiology Of Epidemiology Essay Example For Students
Epidemiology And The Epidemiology Of Epidemiology Essay Introduction As a population it is extremely important for us to be aware of the diseases that can be contagious to us. By having this opportunity to write a paper about epidemiology I will be able to do more research about epidemiology, so I can increase my knowledge about it and also be able to provide accurate information to the reader. In this essay I am going to write about epidemiology by describing what is epidemiology, how is it impact nursing care, talk about the work of several researcher such as John Snow, Ronald Ross, Janet-Claypon, Alexander Fleming, Frank Fenner by describing their work, and their current impact on nursing, and talk about some of the areas that has been affected with epidemiology in our society. What is Epidemiology? To begin with, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, epidemiology is the study of patterns, origins, cause and effects that are in relation to ailments or disease. Epidemiology is a category of public health, and the study which provides statistical evidence to find preventative measures for diseases. There are several factors that are studied as part of epidemiology which is the time of occurrence, the location of the disease, and the demographic that is being affected. The three major epidemiologic techniques are descriptive, analytic, and experimental. Since those three techniques can be used in the inquiry of diseases existence, the method that they used the most is the one that is more important (Center for Disease, 2015). The researchers and their work In addition, there are a lot of ways we learn about epidemiology. Most of the times when it happens in our areas we just know it happened, we often go online to research about it or watch the news so. . is important for Nurses to educate the community about the proper way to deal with the situation when an epidemic occur (Transmission dynamics and, 2015). Conclusion Finally, epidemiologic is one of the things that should never occur in any area because when it happened, it destroyed too much people lives. That is one of the reasons why we should be thankful that we have a magnificent health care system in the United States; even though, not all of us can afford it but at least if there is an outbreak, there is enough amount of nurses and supplies to help the nations get through it. For instance, the one that happened in Haiti I think if the Haitians populations had a better health care system it would not have spread the way it did. I think that there should be a system to prevent this from happened because life is too short for us to lose our lives this way.
